Is there any other way to get rid of a Tat than laser surgery?

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

I regret all of my tats. I was young and stupid at that time and i want to get rid of them all. But i dont want laser surgery. I dont want to spend a fortune or go through a lot of pain. Has any one heard of any other ways to get rid of tattoos?

I think Laser is the only method, I’ve done bad things to my body before, I could never write on myself though, congrats for stepping up to the plate on Tats, the problem with tats is that even if you are a very smart person, people think that you’re a moron for what you did to yourself, (they think I’m a moron for other things), I don’t think this about tats on people but, many people do, not helpful when looking for employment, it shows poor descision making (may not be true but, people are strange), good luck my friend.

A surgical intervention for tattoos would be excision and of course you would have a surgical scar.

How many laser sessions will it take to remove this tattoo?

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Its on my neck. About 2" by 2" has black blue and yellow. It’s two years old and I am getting laser surgery to remove it. Any idea how many sessions it will take?
I don’t need a lecture. I need to get it removed for the military. I don’t wamt to remove it, I have to to enlist.

We have a recruitment center we work with. They bring us recruits for cover ups and turning, for example two close together tattoos into a single tattoo to meet certain guidelines.

I am not sure about that branch of service but we have referred recruits to laser centers we know. We have been told that if you have even one laser treatment, it shows you have started removal and they will take you. Check that out. Your blue will take the longest to get out. It can take even ten sessions.

It is my personal opinion that the laser folks are doing far too many sessions too close together. I believe if they were spread out a lot further apart, there would still be the same amount of color absorption by the body at a significant savings.

A question for those of you going through (or have been through) laser tattoo removal…?

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

I will be getting a tattoo removed by laser surgery here soon and I was just wondering if those of you who are going through or have been through the surgery could give me some words of wisdom. Anything you could tell me about the procedure would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

(Just a note: I’m looking for answers only from people described above. I don’t need anyone telling me I shouldn’t have gotten the tattoo in the first place or that they’ve "heard" the procedure is painful. Yeah, I know I shouldn’t have gotten the tattoo in the first place. Why else would I be removing it? And yeah, we’ve all heard it’s painful to get it removed, so why reiterate it? I’d really just prefer mature, informational answers. Thanks again!)

Its not really painful. its just a constant pain that amkes it annoying. you will be fine. i got 2 removed. its worse in areas with more tender skin.

Has anyone ever heard of tattoos being removed without laser surgery?

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

I had heard about a technique (don’t know the name for it), but they basically go back over your tattoo with a tattoo gun, but with some kind of solution loaded in it intead of it being ink. It is said that the solution "destroys" the ink in the skin. Anyone know anything about this??

They will use the acid to remove the tattoo but acid is somewhat concentrated. if we use it remove the tattoo but it creates wound instead of removing and we will get scar on the place which we have decided to remove it

Permanent or temporary? Does laser surgery to remove a tattoo leave any scar at all?

I was thinking about going to the Brazilian Restaurant to see my beautiful Ukranian female bartender friend to whom I am teaching English using J.D. Salinger’s novel "The Catcher in the Rye". She likes the part about the ducks which I re-read earlier this morning. You know, when Salinger writes: // "…The driver was sort of a wiseguy. ‘I can’t turn around here, Mac.This here’s a one-way. I’ll have to go all the way down to Ninedieth Street now.’ I didn’t want to start an argument. ‘Okay,’ I said. Then I thought of something, all of a sudden. ‘Hey, listen,’ I said. ‘You know those ducks in that lagoon right near Central Park South? That little lake? By any chance, do you happen to know where they go, the ducks, when it all gets frozen over? Do you happen to know by any chance?’ I realized it was only one chance in a million. He turned around and looked at me like I was a madman. ‘What’re ya tryna do, bud?’ he said, ‘kid me?’…" // So, after I re-read that I considered getting a temporary tattoo of the Chinese word for "rain". (If you haven’t seen it you should check it out.) Then when I show it to the beautiful Ukranian bartender and she says,"What does it mean?" I say, "Look at it and guess," and when she says, "I can’t guess" I say, "Okay it’s multiple choice time…You look at it and tell me if it is either ‘cunnilingus’ or ‘kick-*** ping-pong’." Now, as I was thinking about this, a long skit about ducks comes over the radio on a comedy show. THIS WAS SYNCHRONICITY HAPPENING! Something happened in nature or the material world (or what ever you want to call it) that corresponds to exactly what I was thinking about in my head at that very same moment. What I was THINKING about! This kind of synchronicty is much stronger than when the cashier at the convenience store says $14.92 on Columbus Day weekend. This is a poll for you readers: Should I get a temporary Chinese word for "rain" tattoo or a permanent one? No tattoo? Or what do you suggest?

lol well a temporary tattoo will only last week or so.

So I say try it out with the temporary tattoo, see if you like it, if you do – then go get it done for real!

I get a lot of people in my airbrush tattoo booth who are "testing" a tattoo out. Even if it is not the same one, you can see how it would feel to have a colored mark on your skin all the time!

How do you become a laser birthmark/tattoo removal surgeon?

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

I get laser surgery done to get rid of a port-wine stain birthmakr that covers my entire left leg.
And i know how wonderful it feels and how appreciative i am to be able to have this done.
and i want to give that feeling to other people who have birthmarks that have caused so much emotional pain.

So i am wondering what type of schooling you have to go through to become one??
I should probably ask my doctor, but i have to wait another month for that haha.

Thanks :)

It varies from state to state. In some states only doctors and nurses can perform laser procedures. In some you must be certified. In my state anyone with access to a laser can do it, although I chose to get certified. To be certified you might have to be a nurse or esthetician, again, it depends on your state.

Laser tattoo removal – London – anyone know a excellent surgery?

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

I have previously had this procedure done a few times in Australia but am now looking for somewhere to have it done in London.

I don’t want to have it done anywhere as I am worried about scarring.

Does anyone know of a great, very reputable place to get it done?

Cost no real issue.

My wife is having hers removed at the Harley Medical Group on Harley Street. We did some research and they claim to use the most efficient type of laser. They also seem very professional

It costs £100 per session but I think they did a deal that if you paid up front for five sessions, the sixth was free.

She had a single colour kenji tramp stamp, about an inch and a half square. The tattoo cost her £10 to have done 12 years ago and we’ve spent £1100 so far having it removed and its still nowhere near gone !

There’s still a bluish tinge where the tattoo was (although it has faded considerably). There’s no scaring where the laser has been on her skin but it has removed all the pigment from her skin (she’s caucasian but quite dark skinned). We’re going on holiday next week and really hope that she will be able to tan this area- otherwise the whole process will have been pointless in that she’ll have a white tattoo instead of a blue one!

are there other ways of removing tattoo aside from surgery, cautery and laser treatment?

Progress is always being made. One of your best resources would be a local, established tattoo artist. A reputable artist will have the latest information about procedures and who in your area would be best to see. They may be in the business of making art, but they tend to despise poorly done art as much or more than the next person.

A cover up is also a consideration. Again consult with some local artists they may be about to come up with something more subtle and more tailored to your personality.
