what is the difference between tribal black and outliner black tattoo ink?

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

im browsing the web to buy tattoo inks and i see that there is 2 different kinds of black ink: tribal and outliner ink. does anyone know what the difference is?

Tribal black ink is made differently then outline ink, due to having to pack in the black so much when doing tribal. But you can use outlining ink to do tribal tattoos, and tribal ink to outline, they company may have just labeled it tribal ink. But honestly if you don’t know the difference, sound like you may not know what your doing and should seek an apprenticeship from a professional.

Which tattoo ink should I buy?and where is the best place to go for cheapest but high quality inks?

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

I’m having a hard time figuring out which tattoo ink I would like to buy.. I’m a newbie at tattoos and would gladly appreciate new inputs and advice.

It mainly depends on what designs you will use it on. If the design you like is mainly black and gray then, you will mostly need 1 outlining ink and 1 Shading Ink. If it has more required colors then you will most likely need to pick the colors that will fit your design perfectly. There are many colors and brands for you to choose from, but I mainly prefer and trust skin candy inks. you can try their 7 color primary set for starters.

I also came across a site that currently offers discounts for tattoo inks, check their site at http://www.JokerTattoo.net/. Last time I checked they’re on a moving sale. You might want to take advantage of their discounts ;-)

I have an informative speech due in a few weeks and I’m talking about tattoos, I can’t find a reputable website with information about whats in tattoo ink. I need a site that is academic in nature, wikipedia is not preferred since anyone and their grandma could put things up and my professors don’t like it. If you know a site please post! Thanks!

Can you use temporary ink in a real tattoo machine?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

I wanted to know if it was possible if you could put temporary tattoo ink and use it like you were using regular tattoo ink? Is this possible?
Well what I was thinking is that if you used temporary ink, that it might fade and not stay there permanently?

I would imagine it would heal , but the ink isnt designed to be there for long, so you would have a dirty blob of ink stuck under your skin

I’m looking to buy a set of tattoo ink for my boyfriend’s birthday and i’ve found some online but i dont want to buy it if its cheap ink that doesnt last so can anyone help me out please?
So far i’ve ran into Prizm ink and Starbrite ink

If your boyfriend’s a professional, you can sneak a look at the bottles he uses.

If he isn’t, don’t encourage his unsafe and unprofessional practice by buying him more supplies.

will flesh color tattoo ink help fade an existing tattoo for a cover up?

Saturday, March 26th, 2011

I have a couple tattoos on my forearm I would like to get covered up. Can I get flesh colored ink tattooed over it to have a better tattoo go over it? I don’t want laser tattoo removal, can’t afford it. Thank you.
I would like to know if covering an exisiting tattoo with flesh color ink affect the new tattoo I get over it? Will it affect the new ink colors at all?

I’ve been told no, the only ink that is going to cover other ink is black.

Is tattoo ink sterilized before use?

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

I often see tattoo ink for sale on e-bay, and supply shops and it’s always listed as unsterilized, I have several tattoos and never gave it any thought…. the needles and tubes are sterilized, but what about the ink? Thank you for your professional answers.

If you are familiar with tattooing then you should realize that the artist use small caps that they put the ink into and then throw them away after they have been used. Cleanliness is of the utmost importance when choosing a tattoo artist. The guy I go to has an autoclave system for his equipment and uses new caps and ink for each patron. Many of the inks have an alcohol base which tends to kill germs. The main thing you have to concern yourself with if hepatitis as it is difficult to kill

is it normal for colored tattoo ink to not stick to ur hand?

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

My boyfriend got a tattoo of metal mulisha about three months ago and the army helmet suppose to be green. U can’t see any color behind it. He just recently got it fixed by the same guy and the ink starting to flake but u can’t see any color behind it. Is the guy using cheap ink or is it just the tattoo being on the hand? He takes care of it like he should so what’s going on.

Depends, is it on his palm or the back of his hand, I have tats on both of my hands on the backs, and those took no problem, I think maybe you should have him go to a different artist and see what they have to say about it.. Good-luck

Which colors last longest as far as tattoo ink goes?

Sunday, March 20th, 2011

I’m planning on getting a tattoo, I’m just wondering what color ink lasts longest. Black, blue, or red are my choices, but which color resists fading the best and lasts with optimum color the best? I realize how I treat it after I get it matters, but, in general, which one ages the best?

black will last the longest. actually all the colors will LAST the same but they might change. black will pretty much stay the same.
